More Louisiana students than ever before graduated from high school in four years in 2018, according to results released May 15th by the state’s Department of Education. More graduates than ever before also achieved college credits and highly valued industry credentials, and earned Taylor Opportunity Program for Students (TOPS) scholarships, making the Class of 2018 the highest achieving in state history.
Here in Natchitoches Parish, not only do our graduation rates continue to surpass the state average, but they also continue to improve. This is a comparison of Class of 2017 and Class of 2018 in Natchitoches as compared to the state.
You can see that Natchitoches grew 6.2 points and continues to outperform the state in several categories (Black, White, Economically Disadvantaged, and Students with Disabilities).
The A+ Coalition commends the Natchitoches Parish school system for their efforts and will continue to work closely with officials to reach our education goals by 2025-2026.
