Nominations open for Long Purple Line


NATCHITOCHES – Northwestern State University’s Office of Alumni Affairs is accepting nominations for 2020 inductees into the Long Purple Line, the university’s Alumni Hall of Distinction.


Nominations are due Aug. 23 through the online form or can be mailed to the Alumni Center, 535 University Parkway, Natchitoches, LA 71597.  The online form can be found at


The Long Purple Line was established in 1990 to recognize the noteworthy achievements of Northwestern State’s most accomplished former students. Induction into the Long Purple Line is the highest honor NSU bestows on alumni. Past inductees include scientists, educators, statesmen, entrepreneurs, writers, military leaders, philanthropists and others whose lives and/or work have had a positive impact on others.
