A preliminary examination hearing for Felicia Marie Smith, one of the two defendants in the burning death of Levi Cole Ellerbe was continued Friday. Smith was in the courtroom of Judge Desiree Dyess in Natchitoches.
The second defendant is Hanna Barker, Levi’s mother. She had a preliminary examination in September 2018. Barker was indicted in November. The women are accused of plotting to kill the 6-month-old.
Levi was found with second- and third-degree burns over 90 percent of his body on July 17, 2018 and died the morning of July 18 at a Shreveport hospital.
