Pleasant competing in state Jr. Brahman Show

Madison Pleasant, 18, is competing at the Louisiana Junior Brahman State Show this weekend. She is serving as the Louisiana Jr. Brahman Association and Louisiana Jr. Cattleman’s Association president and was elected to the American Jr. Brahman Board of Directors. She was named the Louisiana Jr. Cattleman of the Year and will compete next month at the All-American Nationals.

This will be a bittersweet milestone as her junior cattle career will come to an end. Pleasant is looking forward to growing herd with the genetics she has accumulated the last nine years in raising registered Brahman and F-1 cattle. She plans to attend Northwestern State University this fall to pursue a biology degree.

She is the daughter of Anthony and Shawn Pleasant. Her grandparents are Delmar and Frances Hodge of Zwolle and Barbara Ruggerio and the late Anthony Ruggerio of Marthaville.
