The Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office Community Services Division conducted a clothing giveaway July 8-10 at their offices at 726 Third St. Organizer and truancy officer Vanessa Stanfield said all items were donated by families in the community.
“I have been taking uniform donations since 2012 and people began asking me if they could donate other items such as clothing, shoes and some household and kitchen items. Over time these have accumulated and my boss gave the ok to do the giveaway to help those in need,” Stanfield said. “We have already served a lot of folks and have plenty more to donate.”
The leftovers after the three-day event will be available to truancy office clients and others in need. For more information call 238-7550.
