State police seek juvenile fugitive in Northwest Louisiana


**On July 22 at approximately 9:30 a.m., the second escaped juvenile was located and turned over to the custody of Louisiana State Police and Office of Juvenile Justice.

Louisiana State Police is asking for the public’s help in locating a juvenile, Kelvin Williams, 16, who escaped from the Swanson Correctional Center in Monroe.  Williams, incarcerated for attempted armed robbery and illegal possession of a firearm, has a history of firearm-related offenses and is considered dangerous.

Williams and another juvenile escaped from the Swanson Correctional Center July 19 at 4:30 a.m.  During their escape, the juveniles burglarized a vehicle and a cellular phone was stolen.   At approximately 11 p.m., the other juvenile was apprehended in Shreveport.

Williams’ last known address is in the Shreveport/Bossier area.  Williams is a black male, approximately 5 feet, 8 inches tall and approximately 165 pounds.

Williams now holds active warrants for simple escape and simple burglary.
