Katie Black receives PEO Star Scholarship from local PEO chapter


Chapter AG of PEO recognized the recipient of the PEO STAR Scholarship during a meeting July 1 at Merci Beaucoup. The prestigious PEO STAR Scholarship for the 2019-20 academic year was presented to Katie Black, a senior at Parkway High School. The scholarship was presented at Parkway High School awards ceremony by Margaret Berry, PEO AG and PEO past La. state president. Black is the daughter of Kevin and Lisa Black and was recommended for this scholarship by PEO Chapter AG. She has been accepted and will attend Louisiana Technical College, where she plans to study veterinary science this fall. The PEO Star Scholarship is a $2,500 scholarship based on excellence in leadership, extracurricular activates, community service, academics and potential for future success. The program is open to young women who are citizens or legal permanent residents of the United States or Canada and who are graduating high school seniors at the time of application. A student must be recommended by a PEO chapter.
