The Hardee’s location on Keyser Avenue closed at midnight, Monday, Aug. 19. Manager Brittany Smith said the closure was sudden and unexpected and affects 17-20 employees. “Thank you for the years of service,” Smith said. “It’s sad, but it happens.”
General Manager Shannon Salard said, “People didn’t come enough and we couldn’t make a profit. Places here need more support. We worked so hard.”
Emotions ran the gamut from surprise to sadness and anxiety to anger as employees seek jobs elsewhere.
The franchise is owned by SeeStar QSR, a Gonzales, La., based company.
