Voter Registration Week will begin Tuesday, Sept. 3 and run through Friday, Sept. 6. The Registrar of Voters will be open from 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. to accept applications to register to vote and to receive requests for a Mail Ballot.
Driver’s License or ID Card is required. To update an address bring something with the new address on it. Applications are available at the library or Motor Vehicle Office. Voter information may be updated when Driver’s License are updated.
The Secretary of State is replacing early Voting Machines. A demo machine will be available in the Registrar’s Office that week for anyone wishing to vote a practice ballot. The Demo machine will also be at the “Food For Seniors” Monday, Sept. 9 from 8:30-11 a.m. The Gubernatorial Primary Election will be Saturday, Oct. 12.
Polls will be open from 7 a.m. – 8 p.m. The last day to register to vote in person or by mail for this election is Sept. 11. Registering may be done online at www.GeauxVote.com until Sept. 21. Early voting will be at the Registrar’s Office Saturday, Sept. 28 through Saturday, Oct. 5 except for Sunday, Sept. 29.
