Marvin Gene Wallace, 72, passed away Thursday Aug. 29, 2019, at the Circle of Life Hospice Hospital in Bentonville, Ark. Marvin was born March 16, 1947, in Humphrey, Ark., to the late Tollie and Vivian Frazier Wallace.
He spent most of his life in Pine Bluff, Ark., before retiring to Natchitoches and later to Gravette, Ark. Marvin had a very successful career in the steel construction industry, specializing in the construction of steel mills all over the world for the last 30 years. He was a hard worker and expected hard work from those around him in return. His hard earned knowledge provided guidance to many and will most definitely shape the outcome of numerous construction projects for years to come. He was an avid bass fisherman, and especially enjoyed new boats and cars, usually the faster the better.
Marvin is preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Betty Jo LaCaze Wallace.
He is survived by his three brothers, Chris (Linda) Wallace, Gary (Sharon) Wallace and Kelly (Arletta) Wallace; one sister, Lois (Johnny) Shaw; one son, Joey (Jamie) Wallace; and two grandchildren, Tollie Taylor Wallace and Susan Daniel Wallace; along with numerous nieces, nephews and “running buddies.”
Marvin would want to give a special thank you to Nina and Kenneth Kay and to Arletta and Kelly Wallace for their unwavering support over the past few years.
A Memorial Service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 7 at Warren Meadows Funeral Home in Many officiated by Bro.. Randy Olliff. Internment will follow at 12:30 p.m. at Weaver Cemetery in Flora. A visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 6.
