Tonight marks the beginning of a football season that will be full of hype, excitement, anticipation and even anger. For the chiefs and their fans, it will be a season of redemption. After going 3-8 last year (1-4 in district) this season has a different feel to it.
The chiefs are looking to start their redemption tour by hosting the North Desoto Griffins Friday, Sept. 6. The Griffins are coming off a season where they went 8-4 (5-2 in district) culminating with a playoff appearance. The griffins came short against Cox 19-14.
During their 2018 campaign the Griffins were elite on both sides of the ball. Defensively they have a total of 17 sacks and 10 interceptions. Offensively they ran the ball for 211 yards per game while throwing it for 100 yards per game.
This will be an opportunity for the Chiefs to get revenge after falling short against the Griffins last season 14-40. A major aspect watch for is how will this Chief defense stack up against the offense of the Griffins.
