The Natchitoches Parish School Board approved its $68 million budget for 2019-20 at its meeting Thursday. The consolidated budget includes anticipated revenue and expenses for all programs. The budget of $68,539,750 includes local, state, federal and other sources of income. Local revenue is stated as just over $24 million; State revenue at $34 million; and Federal revenue at $9 million.
Other sources such as grants are at $562,594. A major expense is for regular programs at over $23 million. Regular programs are instruction activity between teachers and students. The board budgeted nearly $6 million for maintenance; nearly $5 million for transportation; and $634,258 for food service operation. The largest expense, over $33 million is budgeted for salaries.
Over $16 million is budgeted for employee benefits.
