The Natchitoches Master Gardeners are preparing for a productive year by working with city employees on pansy transplants. They will eventually be used in the large baskets to be displayed around Natchitoches this winter season. Prospective volunteers are invited to join them every Friday morning in September starting at 8 a.m. at the City “Barn” across from the intersection of Touline and Sixth Street. According to the Master Gardeners, this is a fun way to meet other Natchitoches residents and gain insight into the ongoing beautification projects in which our city is investing. They will work outside, so waterproof shoes/boots, gloves and a utility apron would be helpful for volunteers.
