Gators battle in an offensive showdown, come up just short

Following the first loss of the season, the Lakeview Gators looked to bounce back in a long road trip to Avoyelles High School in Moreauville. With Avoyelles ranked second in the state, this was the toughest challenge the gators have faced. This matchup fell on Avoyelles’ Homecoming game, which made the game that much better.

The Mustangs won the coin toss and elected to receive. This high-powered offense wanted to strike first by marching down the field and running the ball right at the Gators. It looked like they would strike first when the Mustangs managed to reach the goal line, but a fumble recovered by the Gators would swing the momentum.

Lakeview would nearly imitate the mustangs on this drive, making big plays over and over. One exception, this drive would be capped off with a 40-yard touchdown run from #33 RB/DE Daylon Fowler. A failed 2-point conversion would keep the score 6-0 in favor of Lakeview.
