Over 3,600 early votes cast


Registrar of Voters Kathrin Holden said there were 3,610 ballots cast during early voting week. Of those, 2,263 were white voters, 1,220 were black and 127 other.

Female voters turned out in higher numbers than males with 2,016 females voting to 1,594 males.

There were 1,714 Democrats who voted, 1,317 Republicans and 579 other party voters.

For the most part, voters made the trip to the courthouse to cast ballots.

There were 3.461 in person votes compared to only 149 absentee ballots.

The primary election is this Saturday, Oct. 12. Polls are open from 7 a.m.-8 p.m.
