Natchitoches Genealogy Historical Association (NGHA) President Billie Gibson announces their monthly meeting will be Oct. 22 at 7 p.m. at the Natchitoches Genealogy Library, 600 Second St. This month, the guest speaker will be Chief of Resource Management at the Cane River Creole National Park (CRCNP) Dustin Fuqua. Fuqua works hard to preserve the history of these parks. He has conducted extensive research at many historical sites, like the Oakland and Magnolia Plantations and places in and around Cloutierville. Fuqua will share his research, knowledge and experiences of these historical parks and areas of Natchitoches Parish. In addition, David Stamey Natchitoches Clerk of Court will install the association’s new officers for 2020-21. The meeting is free and open to the public.
