The Witches Dance will be Saturday, Oct. 26, at 10 a.m., on the downtown riverbank.

Over 20 dancing witches will perform a 30-minute show featuring Halloween music.

Natchitoches’ own belly dance troupe, Indigeaux, will perform as will the Gems of Cairo from Shreveport and the beginner class from the Natchitoches Parish Library.

Indigeaux members are Scotti Rodgers, Jessie Parr, Julia Ferrell and Cheryl Gianforte. The group recently performed at the Red River Revel as guests of the Gems and they regularly dance at the Natchitoches Farmer’s Market and other events.  Each summer, Indigeaux represents Natchitoches at the Bayou Belly Festival in Lafayette.

The Natchitoches Humane Society and the Natchitoches Farmers Market will have a Halloween costume contest for pets and children Saturday, Oct. 26 from 8-10 a.m. on the downtown riverbank stage. Judging begins at 10:30 a.m. There will be first, second and third place prizes for kid and pet divisions.
