Elegance and Excellence: Debutantes to be presented to society

The Rho Beta Omega and Eta Chi Chapters of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. will present seven young ladies at its debutante presentation Sunday, Nov. 3 at 5 p.m. at Magale Recital Hall. The theme is “Elegance and Excellence: A Dream Come True.” The following young ladies will be presented:

Ka’Bri’an Bonier, a Lakeview High School senior, is the daughter of Anthrinae Bonier and Brian Bonier. She is a member of the National Honor Society, Youth Volunteer Corps, Yearbook Staff, Beta Club, a cheerleader, basketball trainer and voted as Homecoming Queen. Her escort will be Jamichael Burgess, son of LaTrisha Burgess and Michael Burgess.

Christiana Harris, a Natchitoches Central High School senior, is the daughter of Niandria Harris and Christopher Bonier. She is a member of the African American History Club, National Honor Society, FBLA and Upward Bound. Her escort will be Alandon Wilson, son of Michael Wilson and Lavora Wilson.

Aspen Holmes, a Peabody Magnet High School senior, is the daughter of Anika Holmes and Danzel Busby. She is a member of Student Council and captain of the girls basketball team. She is a member of the Debate Club, FFA, cooking and child development program. Her escort will be Keontae Holmes, son of Kermit Gaines and Keisha Gaines.

Isyss Paige, a Natchitoches Central High School senior, is the daughter of Charlotte Petite and Christopher Petite. She is the Class President of the Class of 2020, president of the African American History Club, member of the National Honor Society, trainer for the NCHS Athletic Department and Homecoming Queen. Her escort will be Jonathan Perry, son of Eyvette Harris and John Perry.

Princess Ratliff, a Natchitoches Central High School senior, is the daughter of Jameisha Ratliff and Charles Ratliff. She is a member of the African American History Club, Students Against Destructive Decisions and is in the talent vocal program. Princess is a member of the Asbury United Methodist Church and youth department.  Her escort will be Montrell Thomas, son of Keith Thomas and Stephanie Thomas.

Mariah Robinson, a Natchitoches Central High School senior, is the daughter of Marilyn Robinson and Sammie Addison. She is the captain of the NCHS flagline team, a member of Students Against Destructive Decisions and served on the Homecoming Court. Her escort will be Braylin Demars, son of Sharonda Murphy.

Amber Swayzer, a Natchitoches Central High School senior, is the daughter of Courtney Vallien and James Swayzer. She is a member of the African American History Club, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, FBLA, Students Against Destructive Decisions, tennis team and track team. Her escort will be Chancellor Davis, son of Nola McGuire and Davy Davis Sr.

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated was the first Black Greek-letter sorority founded in 1908 at Howard University. Alpha Kappa Alpha’s mission is to cultivate and encourage high scholastic and ethical standards, to promote unity and friendship among college women, to study and help alleviate problems concerning girls and women in order to improve their social stature, to maintain a progressive interest in college life, and to be of “Service to All Mankind.” Some of the money raised from this fundraiser will be used to provide scholarships for high school seniors, the American Heart Association, the American Cancer Society and various other organizations. Tickets may be purchased in advance from any debutante or Rho Beta Omega Chapter member.
