Following back to back wins, including a big one last week at Red River, the 5-3 Lakeview Gators look to keep the ball rolling in an away matchup against the 4-4 Bunkie Panthers. The Panthers are a jack-of-all-trades team. They are just as skilled in the run game as they are in the pass. They can be a heavy run, or quick run team, or can get the football to the athletes on the outside. The Gators defense will need to be prepared in every aspect of the game.
While on offense, not much will change. The first goal of every week is to establish the run game. Once that is done successfully, then the Gators can get the ball to the athletic receivers on the outside.
The pass game will be implemented a bit earlier this week, to attack the weak secondary of the Panthers.
Hopeful to have a big game this week is #1 WR Jordan Hardy. Hardy, the team’s most talented receiver, has not done as much the past couple weeks as expected. With the spotlight on him, Hardy has a chance to turn some heads this week.
A win this week would be huge in the attempt to get a home playoff game for the Gators. Many are hoping to see this happen. So take a road trip to Bunkie this Friday and come support your Gators!
