Veterans are asked to join the La. Workforce Commission Friday, Nov. 8 from 11 a.m. -1 p.m. at 303 Bienville St. for a Veteran’s Day lunch. RSVP to Barbara Leach at 318-357-3145.

The Natchitoches Parish Veterans and Memorial Park Committee will host a Veteran’s Day Service Nov. 11 at 3:30 p.m. to honor Korean War Era Veterans. The park is beside and behind the Old Courthouse Museum on the corner of Second and Church streets.   The committee needs your help to insure it has a complete list  of those living Natchitoches area veterans who served during the Korean War from 1950-53.  The Park Committee/VFW/American Legion will include the names of those attending in the program and recognize them with the presentation of a Korean War Memorial Pin at the ceremony.   Email names to Bob Gillan at: bobgillan@cp-tel.net. or give them on to any member of the Park Committee, VFW/American Legion or Auxiliary.   The program highlights will include the recognition of high school students  who represented the community at Louisiana Girls and Boys State.   “Area veterans, friends, and families are encouraged to join us in this celebration of our veteran’s service to our country,” Gillan said.

The Natchitoches Central High School JROTC Battalion invites all veterans and their families to attend the annual NCHS Veterans Day Program Monday, Nov. 11 at the NCHS main gymnasium. The guest speaker is Master Sgt. (Ret.) Scott Stetson, former Senior Military Instructor at Northwestern State University Army ROTC Program. The NCHS Pro Start will provide a reception for the veterans and family members in the cafeteria from 9-10 a.m. The program begins at 10 a.m.  For more information call the JROTC Department at (318) 352-9656.
