Gators to battle Tigers in Lakeview Jamboree

64

The Lakeview Gators will get another scrimmage under their belt Thursday, Nov. 14 when they host the St. Mary’s Tigers. This will be the Gators second scrimmage of the season, and the last one before the regular season starts.

The biggest strength of the Tigers is no doubt their 6 feet, 7 inch big man, UL-Monroe signee Thomas Howell. Lakeview Head Coach Brian Williams described him as “One of those next, next level guys, someone who works on his game a lot.” Howell’s post game is second to none. It will be a major challenge, especially with only six players suited up for the Gators, to stay out of foul trouble and control him in the paint.

The way the Gators will attack the Tigers, is troubling their inexperienced backcourt. Lakeview has an amazing backcourt leading their team, and will attack the young backcourt of St. Mary’s, forcing them to stay on their heels all four quarters.

One member of the Gator backcourt that will hopefully have a big game is #14 Ty Washington. Washington has been in a bit of a slump lately, and a good matchup in this game will give him the boost he needs to break out in this young season.

Come out this Thursday to watch the Gators play the last scrimmage of the season, following the Lady Gators game.
