Parish Government cuts its debt to Sheriff’s office in half

Parish Government is paying down the debt it owes the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Department according to a report by Parish President Rick Nowlin at the Parish Council meeting Monday.

The $1 million that the Natchitoches Parish Police Jury owed the Sheriff in 2006 has been paid down to $409,223 and is less than half of what the arrears to the detention center were in 2013.
