On Nov. 22, 2019, at 4:39 p.m. at the Courtyard of Natchitoches Nursing Home, God looked into his family garden and picked one of the greatest sons of all, our brother, Ivory Solomon “Scoopeee” Moody, whom we all loved so dearly.

He was born Dec. 14, 1949, in Oakdale to the late Rosie Mae Remo Moody and the late Solomon Moody.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Courtyard of Natchitoches, the staff at Hospice of Natchitoches nurses, the ER doctors and nurses and staff of Natchitoches Regional Medical Center and the ER doctors, nurses and thet Rapides Regional Medical Center staff. A special thanks to the CNAs at the Courtyard of Natchitoches, Linda “Big Momma” Johnson, Shirley Lewis, Yerosha “Nana” Helaiare, Kellsey Bynog and Victoria Nash, social worker Laquita Weston, house keepers, Brenda Armstrong and the hands-on nurses, Joe for giving that extra care.

I am very thankful.

Services will be at the Rising Star Missionary Baptist Church, the Rev. Jesse R. Granule Sr., pastor, at 624 Mill St., Oakdale, at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 30. Viewing will be from 10-11 a.m.

Taking care of my brother was a joy, but a hard place to be when your loved one is slipping away. Knowing that he is no longer in pain is a comfort to my heart.
