There will be a special called meeting of the Natchitoches City Council Friday, Dec. 27 at 9 a.m. in the Municipal Building at 500 Second St. The council will motion to amend the agenda to include an ordinance related to the acquisition of a tract of land that will expand Parc Natchitoches to 200 contiguous acres. The City proposes to buy 20 acres from Chester Corley for $300,703.
The proposed purchase will incorporate walking and biking trails on property owned by Northwestern State into the park. Another proposed ordinance will buy back 15 acres the City sold to Ledet’s Louisiana Seafood. Also introduced will be an ordinance for the City to lease property at 200 Rapides Drive to Youth & Families Empowerment Services.
Other ordinances will amend the personal manual related to sick leave and introduce bids for caustic soda for the water treatment plant.
The council will consider the following resolutions:
•Accept bids for La 6 West Turn Lane and J-Turn
•Accept bids for renovations to 720 Sixth St.
•Change order for construction of City Council Chambers
•Execute certificate of completion for City Council renovations
