Convicted sex offender arrested on new charges



Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Detectives arrested a South
Natchitoches Parish convicted Tier 1 sex offender Dec. 21. Investigators began checking out complaints of alleged sexual misconduct involving Michael Mobley, of Mora, and a relative.

Detectives interviewed the victim and learned the alleged misconduct occurred at a residence in Gorum.

Detectives obtained sufficient evidence and probable cause during the two-week investigation to obtain a criminal arrest warrant signed by a
Tenth Judicial District Court Judge.

On Tuesday, Jan. 7 at 2 p.m., deputies and Probation & Parole Agents went to
Mobley’s residence in the 100 block of Mora-Gorum Road.
Mobley, 35, was arrested without incident and charged with 2-counts of Carnal Knowledge of a Juvenile.

He remains in the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center without bond.
Det. Derrick Sowell investigated the case.

Mobley has prior convictions for Indecent Behavior with a Juvenile and
Aggravated Crimes against Nature.
