Magnolia Spa & Wellness won the award for small business, Maggio’s Package Liquor won for midsize business, French Market Express for large business, Cane River Brewing Company for new business and CASA of Central Louisiana for non-profit.
Lasyone’s Meat Pie Restaurant won in the Town Favorite category and Stanley Salter was presented the Lifetime Achievement Award. Marilyn Mullikin received the President’s Award.
Natchitoches Young Professionals (NYP), a Chamber initiative for ages 21-40, recognized Stewart Carnline, Craig Caskey, Chris Lyles and Sarah Stewart Nelson with the “4 under 40” award for excelling in community leadership and professional achievements. Carnline is the director of marketing and public relations for EpicTouch Company. Caskey is the continuous improvement manager at Alliance Compressors. Lyles is the interim director for the School of Biological and Physical Sciences at NSU and Nelson is the director of the Northwestern Louisiana Cancer Center and founder of the nonprofit organization, the Northwestern Louisiana Cancer Foundation.
Micah Foshee was honored as Ambassador of the Year, an award voted on by fellow ambassadors.
The announcements and presentations were made during the Natchitoches Area Chamber of Commerce annual awards dinner Thursday, Jan. 16 at the Events Center. Chamber President Laura Lyles, Past Chair Ryan Todtenbier, Chairman Tom Matuschka and Vice-Chairman Joanna Washington announced the winners chosen by Chamber members.
Finalists in the small business category, 1-10 employees, included BOM Financial Services and Engage Federal Credit Union. Finalists in mid-size business, 11-24 employees, were Lang Orthodontics and Rhodes Properties and Development and in the large business category, over 25 employees, finalists were Natchitoches Regional Medical Center and Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office. The Cakery and Legacy Cafe were finalists in the new business category, open less than 12 months, and rounding out the categories, NW La. Cancer Center Foundation and Women’s Resource Center were finalists as non-profits.
The event was catered by Lasyone’s and concluded with raffle drawings.
