Lengthy agenda at Parish Council tonight

There will be a lengthy agenda when John Richmond conducts his first meeting as Parish President Monday, Jan. 27, at 5:30 p.m. in Council Board Room 211 in the courthouse. New council members will include Monty Cheatwood, Jim Kilcoyne and John Salter. Returning members are Pat-Ward Hoover and Chris Paige. Several of the agenda items are those not addressed in December because there was no quorum at two meetings.

•Department head and Parish President reports

•Boards and committees: Reappoint Mark Custis to Fire District 4 board; appoint Steven Newbury to replace William Dowden to Fire District 4 board; appoint joseph Bynog to replace Richard Stampley on Fire District 6 board; appoint Landon Amberg to replace Greg Burke on Tourist Commission; appoint Sammiaa Shields and Monique LaCour to Children and Youth Planning Board; reappoint Latnie Brewton to Saline Lake Game and Fish Preserve Commission

•Introduce transfer title to Breda Head Start Center to Save the Children and execute bill of sale

•Introduce cooperative endeavor agreement between Parish and Save the Children to lease property on Trudeau Street

•Introduce sell Campti Head Start Center to Save the Children

• Sell NSU Head Start Center

•Create Natchitoches Parish Sewer District

•Public hearing on changes to Parish codes

•Remove .59 miles of Mink-Hutton Road from road system

•Accept Payne Sewer System from Total Environmental Systems Inc.

•Sign agreement and weekly reports for the Energy Assistance Program

•Authorize election in Fire District 2

•Agreement to rent postage machine from Neopost

•Approve appointment of Johnny Salard as interim director of Public Works

•Name two council members to search committee for new director and assistant director of public works

•Execute agreement with Hope for Paws for reimbursement of expenses

•Cooperative Endeavor with Veterans Affairs office for $296 per month

•Apply for funding in La. Watershed Initiative grant program

•Consider adding cyber security insurance

•Award bids for highway materials

•Change Feb. 17 meeting to another date

•Consider legislative audit
