Krewe of Wag-uns Parade to roll Feb. 22

Laissez les “bone” temps rouler!

The Krewe of Wag-uns is gearing up for their annual Mardi Gras Children and Pet Parade, set for Saturday, Feb. 22.

Registration begins at 2 p.m. at BOM Bank on Washington Street, with lineup at 2:45. It is $10 to enter per family and pets are eligible to be named either King Rex Rufus or Queen Mutt-A-Gras, who leads the parade.

Golf carts are permissible if driven by an adult. Children may ride scooters, bicycles, and wagons, but must be accompanied by an adult. No ATVs are permitted and it is BYOB (Bring your own beads).

The parade will kick off from BOM Bank at 3 p.m. and travel south on Front Street to Touline Street, and turn left on the downtown riverbank until reaching the stage. There, awards will be given for Best Float, Best Dressed Pet and Best Dressed Child.
