Damon LeGrande signed his commitment to play football at Southern Arkansas University on National Signing Day Wednesday, Feb. 5. He was joined in the ceremony by his mother, father and siblings while surrounded by classmates and faculty. He will join the Muleriders who compete in the Great American Conference and had an 8-4 record last season.
The 6 feet, 2 inch, 260 pound St. Mary’s standout will play defensive line and likely at the defensive end position. He is a dual sport athlete and will be competing in discus as well. LeGrande’s engine while at Saint Mary’s never idled and he garnered several accolades as an offensive and defensive player for the Tigers. In his senior season, he received District honors as first team offense and defensive line and was recognized as an ALL-CENLA Defensive lineman.

He was the teams Defensive MVP playing at just about every position on that side of the ball. In addition to his football accomplishments, he was a State Champion powerlifter his sophomore year and a State Champion discus thrower his junior year.
He plans to major in Ag-Business while playing at Southern Arkansas University.
