Suspect in stolen vehicle crashes, flees on foot near Ajax exit



At 8:28 a.m., Friday, Feb. 14, Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Deputies were searching for an unidentified male that fled off I-49 near the Ajax exit from a black Nissan Altima bearing purple heart tags.

Deputies clocked the vehicle south of Natchitoches at approximately 8:13 a.m., speeding 115 miles per hour in a 75 mph speed zone.

The violator failed to stop, leading deputies on a 22 mile pursuit until he crashed the vehicle near Ajax then fled from the vehicle.

Deputies learned the vehicle is stolen from Slidell. A weapon was in the vehicle at the time of the theft. The suspect is identified as a black male with medium length dreads wearing a black shirt or coat.

Desoto Parish Sheriff’s Deputies and a Louisiana State Police Trooper are assisting with the search for the suspect. Winn Parish Tracking Team is also responding to the area.
