Mr. Jimmie Lloyd McGlothin, 72, passed away Sunday, Feb. 9, 2020.
Celebration of his life will begin with a gaterhing of family and friends from 2:30-4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22 in the state room of Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home, Haughton. A memorial service with military honors will follow at 4 p.m. in the mausoleum chapel at Hill Crest Memorial Park.
Jimmie was born Saturday, Sept. 6, 1947, to Louie and Annie West McGlothin in Beaumont, Texas.
He graduated from Vidor High School where he lettered in football each year he played. He enlisted in the Air Force and spent four years stationed at Fort Walton Beach, Fla. After being honorably discharged, he enrolled at Northwestern State University where he graduated with a degree in computer programming. He later received his CDL and began a career in the trucking industry where he would eventually retire.
He had a passion for Harley Davidson motorcycles and classic American muscle cars. He also loved all sports, especially football and baseball.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Annie West McGlothin; father, Louie Elmer McGlothin; and brother, Bruce McGlothin.
Jimmie is survived by three children, Stacy Perron and fiancé Brent Landry, Stephanie Ammons and fiancé Grant Vellion and Kevin McGlothin and wife Kristy; six grandchildren Arica Ammons, Arin Ammons, Reese Perron, Hadley Perron, Colton McGlothin and Chandler McGlothin; and three brothers, Donnie McGlothin and wife Pat, Arthur Dew and Steven McGlothin.
The family would like to thank Regional Hospice and Pilgrim Manor for taking such good care of him during his final days.
