March 29, 1924-Feb. 13, 2020

Marian Lockwood Marold Bennett Morgan of Coushatta was born March 29, 1924, to Charles and Annie Marold in Woodbridge, N.J., and passed away peacefully Feb. 13, 2020, at the age of 95. Mrs. Morgan had been a resident of Green Meadow Haven Nursing Home for the past two years.

Mrs. Morgan was preceded in death by her husband, Ishmael Ed Morgan; husband, Lonnie H. Bennett, the love of her life and father to her five children; her parents; 11 brothers and sisters; her sisters and brothers-in-law; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Morgan is survived by two daughters, Marlene Long and husband Charles of Coushatta and Carol Cherry and husband Larry of May, Texas; three sons, Lon Bennett of Beverly Hills, Fla., David Bennett and wife Nita of Williamsburg, Va., and Thomas Bennett and wife Xiomara of Canton, Ga.; and one stepson, Forest Morgan and wife Susan of Wexford, Penn. Her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins were all very special to her.

Mrs. Morgan was a homemaker who was the wife of a career Navy man and who endured the life of multiple moves while raising five children practically alone.

She was a member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church and will be remembered by her positive outlook and contagious laughter.

Aulds Funeral Home will be conducting the cremation. A memorial service will be Saturday, Feb. 29 with visitation at 2 p.m. and services at 3 p.m. at Fairview Baptist Church with Dr. Matt Endris and Bro. Buster Bailey officiating.
