Parade routes, street closures announced for Saturday, Feb. 22


The Krewe of Wag-uns Children and Pet Parade will roll through downtown Natchitoches Saturday, Feb. 22 at 3 p.m. The parade is open to all pet owners and awards will be given for Best Float, Best Dressed Pet and Best Dressed Child. Registration begins at 2 p.m. at Bank of Montgomery on Washington Street. Entry fee is $10.

The parade route is as follows:

Depart Bank of Montgomery (Washington Street) to Front Street to Rue Touline then Ending at Rue Beauport Riverbank Stage.

Front Street will close to traffic shortly before 3 p.m. until the parade passes.

The Krewe of Dionysos Parade will roll through Natchitoches Saturday, Feb. 22 at 6 p.m. The parade will travel through East Natchitoches and the Natchitoches Historic District creating rolling street closures along the parade route.

Depart River South Common Parking Lot down South Drive to Keyser Avenue to Jefferson Street to Front Street to Washington Street to Texas Street to Second Street then ending at the intersection of Church and Second Streets

During these street closures, traffic may detour via the adjacent network of City streets. All motorists traveling near the parade routes are encouraged to exercise caution and follow law enforcement instructions.
