Ms. Peggy Ann Cheatwood Wise, 72, of Saline died Feb. 29, 2020.

She was a devout follower of Jesus Christ and faithfully attended Carolina Baptist Church.  She was a graduate of Saline High School. Ms. Wise was a loving mother and grandmother and will genuinely be missed by friends and family. She worked as a coach and educator for 38 years, until her retirement from Natchitoches Parish School System, primarily at Goldonna Elementary School.  Her passion and dedication to the personal care and education of children was exemplary, and displayed in the countless hours that she personally spent with an untold number of children. She was truly a champion of those in need. She spent much of her retirement years selflessly caring for many of the elderly in her community. Her absence from this Earth will truly be felt by many.

She is survived by her sons, Lee Wise Jr. (Laurie) and Michael Wise (Kerri); grandchildren, Whitney Wise, Jody Wise (Katelyn), Levi Wise, Kellyann Allen (Casey), Haley Bates, Lauren Wise, Landon Wise, Cambry Bates, Lawson Wise and Kylie Bates; great-grandchildren, Audrey Woods and Samuel Wise; sisters, Lonnette Golden, Nancy Monk and Vickie Cheatwood; and brother, Lonnie Cheatwood Jr.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Peggy Louise Wise; great-grandson, Chandler Rhett Wise; parents, Lonnie Sr. and Dossie Louise Caskey Cheatwood; and sister, Laura Cheatwood Collingsworth.

Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. Tuesday, March 3 at Old Saline Baptist Church near Saline. Funeral services will be at the church at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 4 with Bro. Ken Roberts and Bro. Shaun Garner officiating.  Interment will follow in the Old Saline Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Southern-Edmonds Funeral Home of Jonesboro.

In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations be made to HIS Mission Team via an account with Sabine State Bank.  This is a very active Christian ministry in which she supported faithfully.
