March 28, 1944 – March 29, 2020

Millie Savell went home to be with the Lord Sunday, March 29, 2020.  She passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family.  She was born March 28, 1944 to John and Ruby Anders Allen in Robeline.

Millie had a long career in public and private schools as a food service supervisor.  She was a God-fearing lady that was a light to everyone, every day.  Her light shines bright. She served and adored the children from schools and church and cared for them deeply.  She had a smile that showed her happy soul to Jesus.

She truly loved her family.  She followed her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren in their school and sports activities for as long as she could.  She was their number one fan.

Millie is survived by her husband, Barry Savell; her children, Tonya Shelton and husband Jay of Sulphur, Cheryl Brister and husband Jeff, Kelly Yelverton and husband Russell of Natchitoches, Craig Savell of Tennessee, Cristy Powell, and Kelly Ward and husband Wes of Tennessee; grandchildren, Eric French and wife Meagan, Sarah French, Jennifer Brown and husband Chris, Andrew Withers, Aidan Weeks, Derek Gora, Taylor Savell, Dakotah Cool, Kaylee Savell, Cassie Savell, Sydney Ward, Lucian Ward, Helena Ward, Callie Dubois, Cole Yelverton, Worth Shelton and Madeline Shelton; great-grandchildren, Mason French, Hunter French, William Brown, Hunter Brown and Cameron Morgan; and siblings, Ray Allen and wife Ernestine, Dottie Allen Sparks and Patsy Allen Teer.

She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Ruby Allen; and brothers, Phillip Allen and Jerry Allen.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be Randy Allen, Rodney Allen, John Allen, J.B. Allen, Jimmy Allen and Eric French.

Honorary pallbearers will be Ricky Rains, Greg Allen and Ted Allen.

To know her is to love her. Everyone that met her, loved her.

Due to the recent health concerns and the restrictions in accordance with limited gatherings, a private family graveside service will be at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Many Wednesday, April 1. A memorial service in honor of her life will be at a later date.
