Natchitoches residents are participating in a Bear Hunt! It is much like riding around at Christmastime to view festively lit homes except people are now taking their children to search for bear. Well, stuffed teddy bears. It’s a fun activity for a quarantine situation that provides quality family time.
Here are all the bear photos you shared….happy hunting!
“We’re Going on a Bear Hunt” is based on a children’s book that teaches children to find ways to overcome difficulties and find ways to heal and move forward. This is very appropriate for this time in our lives.
The children’s story, ‘We’re Going on a Bear Hunt,’ by Michael Rosen, offers a good metaphor for the journey we take towards healing.
In the story, four children go on a bear hunt. ‘What a beautiful day!’ they declare. ‘We’re not scared.’ On their journey to find the bear, they are faced with a number of dilemmas. Thick, oozy mud, a big dark forest, a deep cold river. Each time they encounter a problem, they realize there is no way around it. The only way to go forward is to go through.
Uh oh! A river!
A deep, cold river!
We can’t go over it.
We can’t go under it.
We’ve got to go through it!
