“NRMC’s Wound Care team turns lives around every day with their amazing care and services. Anyone who has experienced a chronic wound knows how difficult it can be to heal and the toll that a serious wound takes on the entire body,” explained Kirk Soileau, Chief Executive Officer of NRMC.
“Seeing patients come into the Center very ill from their wounds, and then seeing their complicated wounds heal as the physicians and clinicians stop the infection and cause new tissue and healthy skin to grow is simply miraculous. Congratulations to every member of our Wound Care team on this much deserved recognition and our sincerest thanks for the outstanding work you are doing.” The Wound Care team provides highly specialized wound care to patients suffering from diabetic ulcers, pressure ulcers, infections and other chronic wounds which have not healed in a reasonable amount of time. Leading edge treatments at the Center include negative pressure wound therapy, total contact casting, bio- engineered tissues, biosynthetic dressings and growth factor therapies.
The Center also offers hyperbaric oxygen therapy, which works by surrounding the patient with 100 percent oxygen to help progress the healing of the wound. The NRMC Wound Care Center is a member of the Healogics network and provides access to benchmarking data and proven experience treating approximately 2.5 million chronic wounds.
