The Chief Executive Officer of Outpatient Medical Center in Natchitoches was ousted from that position after three years on the job during a board meeting May 1. Outpatient Medical Center Board of Directors president Tommy Roque confirmed Tuesday that CEO Carl Walters’ contract was not renewed.
His contract actually expired on March 1 of this year and he had been working without a contract since then. “The board did not renew the contract and Mr. Walters is no longer with OMC,” Roque said. “He had a three year contract and he had served the contract.” Roque added the decision to not renew his employment contract was made Friday, May 1.
Roque stated Dr. Mark Guidry was named interim director and “he would be interim until such time that we get ready to do a national search for a permanent director.” The Times has learned from a person with close ties to the facility but not authorized to speak on their behalf, that there were funding and spending issues.
