Scattered showers and thunderstorms may develop during the afternoon peak heating hours, with the best chances for severe weather occurring later this evening with a south moving complex

Impacts:

Damaging winds appear to be the primary threat, with localized flash flooding possible with some of the heavier rain activity.

Tropical Depression Cristobal:

Timing and Overview:

TD Cristobal is still over the Yucatan Peninsula, and has not made it to open water. It is expected to move across the Gulf, and come ashore in southern LA by Sunday evening as a tropical storm.

Impacts:

Several rounds of potentially heavy rainfall are possible, with some rounds well ahead of the storm. Additionally, tropical storm strength wind gusts will be possible at times. While the main tornado threat is currently to our east, that could shift farther into our area if the storm track shifts west. At this time, best chances for an isolated tornado appear to be along the ArkLaMiss.
