Funeral services for Alma Louise Carter Gros, 69, of Grayson will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 11 from the Columbia chapel of Riser & Son Funeral Home with the Rev. Shane Duke officiating. Interment will follow in the Old Union Cemetery at Grayson. Visitation will be Friday, July 10 at the funeral home from 5-8 p.m.

Alma Louise Carter Gros was born March 24, 1951, at Monroe to the union of her parents Richard Edwin Carter and Mary Viva Childress Carter and she passed from this life Monday, July 6, 2020, at Christus Highland Medical Center in Shreveport following a brief illness.

She was preceded in death by her father.

Alma is survived by her mother, Mary Viva Childress Carter of Grayson; sister, Celeste Carter Shaeffer; sons, Robert B. Greer III and Murray Joseph “Trey” Gros III; daughter-in-law, Susan Gros, all of Natchitoches; aunt, Frances Fisher of Columbia; a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and other family members.

Alma loved her family and was so looking forward to the birth of her grandson in October, Lucas James Gros.

Alma attended Natchitoches High School, Many High School and Northwestern State University in Natchitoches. Alma loved the Lord and was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Natchitoches. Her later years were dedicated to the care of her mother and also her father until his passing.
