SFM deputies have determined the fire originated in the bedroom where the victim was found, however, the exact cause of the fire is undetermined at this time. The fire is not considered suspicious.

Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Deputies, Louisiana State Fire Marshal Office, Natchitoches Parish Fire District #9 assisted by Natchitoches Parish Fire District #6, Natchitoches Regional Medical Center EMS, Campti Police and the Natchitoches Parish Coroner’s Office are on the scene of a fatal house fire in the 100 block of Wood Street in Campti according to Natchitoches Parish Sheriff Stuart Wright.
NatCom 911 Center received the call this morning at approximately 7:59am.
Deputies say upon their arrival the front right side of the residence was engulfed in flames.
One fatality has been confirmed in the fire.
Natchitoches Parish Coroner’s Office is on the scene.
NPSO detectives along with State Fire Marshal investigators are processing the scene as they do in all fire fatalities.
The cause of the fire is under investigation at this time.

Eleanor C. Gill, 87, of Campti, has been identified as the fatal fire victim in this morning’s house fire in Campti according to Natchitoches Parish Deputy Asst. Coroner Steven Clanton.
Family members have been notified.
The body will be sent for an autopsy.
The cause of the fire remains undetermined at this time.

Prayers and condolences from the Times staff to the family for their loss. A family member just called from out of state to confirm it was her grandmother. Name not being released publicly yet.
