Early Voting for the Aug. 15 runoff election closed Saturday, Aug. 8 with 3,269 people choosing to cast ballots early. There were slightly more white voters, at 1,684, compared to Black voters at 1,507 and 84 other race votes cast.
More females, 1,976, voted than males, 1,193. There were 1,771 Democrats that voted compared to only 961 Republicans and 537 other party voters. Many more people made the trip to the Courthouse to vote, 2,612, as opposed to 655 voting absentee.

The runoff election is Saturday, Aug. 15. Polls open at 7 a.m. and close at 8 p.m.

•Deadline for mail-in ballots to be received at the Registrar of Voters office is Aug. 14 at 4:30 p.m. They can be returned by mail to POB 677, Natchitoches, LA 71458 or hand delivered to the Registrar’s office at 200 Church St., Room 103, in the parish courthouse.
