Update from Fire Chief John Wynn:
Central Fire station received a dispatch from NPD reporting a structure fire at 524 Myrtle Drive with occupants possibly trapped inside. Two ambulances from NRMC Ambulance service were also dispatched.
Our first unit arrived on scene finding smoke and fire coming from the structure. The occupant of the involved structure had been removed by three individuals prior to our arrival. Patient care was transferred to NRMC Paramedics when they arrived on scene and transported to NRMC ER where she was reported to be in Critical Condition upon last update.
After a search, no other occupants were found to be inside the structure. The Louisiana State Fire Marshal’s Office was notified.
At this time no further information is available.
Natchitoches Fire Dept. Is on the scene of a structure fire on Myrtle Drive. Initial reports indicate at least one person was transported to the hospital. No further details are available at this time. Details will be posted as they become available.
