Brookshire Grocery Co. deploys community kitchen in Natchitoches Wednesday, Sept. 2


Brookshire Grocery Co. is deploying its “Community Kitchen” and a team of employee-partners to serve free hot meals to people who are affected by Hurricane Laura in the Central Louisiana area. In the Super 1 Foods store parking lots, a team will be serving burgers or sausage with limited quantities at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 2, at 5696 Hwy. 1 Bypass in Natchitoches and 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 3, at 2951 Cottingham Exp. in Pineville.

“Our hearts and prayers go out to those who are affected by this devastating hurricane. We are proud to stand with and serve Louisiana as we work together to restore our communities,” said Brad Brookshire, Brookshire Grocery Co. Chairman and CEO. “We know many are still without power and we are grateful to be able to provide a free hot meal. As we have for 92 years, our company is dedicated to giving back and supporting our partners, customers and neighbors.”

BGC has donated 27 truckloads of water and/or ice to those who are without power in Louisiana. The company continues to monitor the situation and supply additional resources to best serve customers.
