Natchitoches Parish Sheriff Stuart Wright joined deputies while they distributed ice in the Melrose and Provencal communities according to the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies also distributed ice in Kisatchie, Bellwood, and Vowells Mill communities where some residents still do not have electricity.
While in Provencal, Sheriff Wright and deputies visited and provided ice to an event hosted by the Village of Provencal thanking utilitiy linemen for their tireless efforts of attempting to restore power to communities in Natchitoches Parish.
Over the course of the last two days, deputies assisted by the Louisiana National Guard, Fire District #1 and volunteer community members on Thursday have handed out over 720 bags of ice provided by La. GOSHEP to Natchitoches Parish residents impacted by Hurricane Laura with a refrigerated truck loaned to transport the ice by T-Johnny’s Seafood of Natchitoches.
We cannot express enough gratitude to T-Johnny’s Seafood for their commitment to serving the citizens of Natchitoches Parish during this time.
When we asked T-Johnny if we could use the truck for ice transportation, he immediately responded “when do you need it, you can have it now.”
Deputies also delivered some available tarps to cover residentail roofs damaged by Hurricane Laura. Deputies say they have noticed neighbors helping other neighbors throughout the parish. Most of the time if you reach out and ask for help in our parish people are willing to help.
Thank You Natchitoches Parish….
