Sibley Lake Levee Slide

756

Director of Utilities Matt Anderson said the City is repairing a “slide” in the levee on the west of side of Sibley Lake. The slide is caused by excessive rain and can take years to develop. It was detected during an annual inspection by La. DOTD. The wet dirt is excavated and replaced with dry, compacted dirt. Anderson said the work is part of levee maintenance and no cause for alarm since the levee is well maintained. Sibley Lake is the drinking water source for the city.
