Catherine Frances Ingram and Marcus Alexander Florez were married on June 6, 2020, at 7 p.m. at the Minor Basilica of the Immaculate Conception in a very intimate ceremony. Father Scott Chemino officiated the Nuptial Mass. Due to COVID restrictions, the couple had to alter the original plans for their wedding, downsizing attendants and guests substantially and changing their original honeymoon plans.
Catherine is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Christopher Ingram of Natchitoches. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Ingram Jr. of Natchitoches and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Chotto of Belle Chasse, Louisiana.
Marcus is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Mark Florez of Wichita, Kan. He is the grandson of Mrs. Virginia Florez and the late Mr. Alex Florez of Wichita, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Red Hubbard of Wichita.
The bride, escorted by her father, wore an elegant ball gown from Martina Liana. The ivory/honey dress had a sweetheart neckline and a rich, lace pattern bodice which extended through the full, tulle ball gown skirt, and was finished with a lace hem. All-over beading added a sophisticated sparkle to the look. A slight dip in the back of the bodice highlighted the back of her gown and was balanced out by a breathtaking lace train. The back of the wedding gown zipped up beneath fabric-covered buttons. She wore a Toni Federici chapel length veil with a circular style cut. The trim was completely lined with delicate vine embroidery and accented with sequin flowers. She carried a silver and pearl rosary which belonged to her great, great grandmother, Eliza Payne Williams. She wore a silver six-pence in her shoe and lace garter trimmed in blue, both given to her by her grandmother, Mrs. Lucile Ingram. Her outfit was adorned by the same pearl earrings her mother wore on her wedding day, 29 years ago.
She carried a beautiful nosegay of white Eskimo roses, garden roses, light blue hydrangeas, and a blue delphinium accented by assorted foliages matched to her ensemble.
Her sisters, Gabrielle and Ellen Ingram, served as bridesmaids. Joshua Florez of Houston served a best man. First cousin Steven Hamersky of Wichita served as a groomsman.
Scripture readers were sisters of the bride and Steven Hamersky. The groom’s sisters, Brianna Florez and Vanessa Anderson, presented the offertory.
Following the ceremony, guests enjoyed a formal dinner prepared by Chefs Ben and Keri Fidelak at their establishment, The Kitchen. Emelda Odom of Natchitoches prepared the exquisite and delicious wedding cake.
The bride graduated with honors from the University of Louisiana in Monroe. She recently received her medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, and began her residency training at Baylor College of Medicine’s Urology Program. The groom is a graduate of the University of Kansas as an honors graduate. He then completed a post-baccalaureate research scholar’s program at Harvard University. Upon its completion, he was accepted into the MD/PhD program at Baylor College of Medicine and is presently in the fifth year of an eight year program.
After enjoying their honeymoon to San Antonio, Texas, the couple is at home is Houston.
