Graveside services for James Edward Adams, 78, of Ashland will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 24 at Walnut Hill Cemetery in Bradley, Ark., with Bro. James Lovell officiating. Visitation will be from 6 – 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 23 at Rockett-Nettles Funeral Home, Coushatta.
Mr. Adams was born Oct. 9, 1942, in Bradley, Ark., and passed away Oct. 20, 2020.
He was known by many as “Big Daddy.” His pride and joy was his son and grandchildren. He enjoyed watching old westerns and especially liked John Wayne and watching wrestling on television.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Vester and Mary Adams; brothers, Raymond, Kenneth, William, Rudolph, James Foy “Junior” and Billy Ray; and sisters, Hazel and Cynthia.
Mr. Adams is survived by his son, Eddie Adams and wife Connie of Ashland; grandchildren, Brandon Adams, Josh Adams and Hannah Adams of Ashland; sister, Lillie Davidson of Nashville, Ark.; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Pallbearers will be Brandon Adams, Josh Adams, Tracy Banks, Richard Banks, Zach Skinner, Tom Ouzts Jr., Larry Robinette and Mike Duncan.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ray Adams, Harvey “Eddie” Adams and Buddy Skinner.
The family wishes to express a special thanks to Green Meadow Haven and Dr. Chico for all their care over the years.
