Susie Mae Perkins was born to Mrs. Bertha Jackson and Mr. Sidney Lawson in Red River Parish. Susie was married to James Perkins who preceded her in death. She was a member of White Temple for many years.
Later, Susie moved to Natchitoches and joined First Timothy F.G.O.R.M., the Rev. John E. Dearborne, pastor, where she served as an usher.
She leaves to cherish her memory, one daughter, Dorothy Mae Thomas of Dallas; three sisters, Fannie L. Bryant, Juanita McDowell and Lena Morrow; one brother, John Jackson; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 25 great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be Saturday, Oct. 31 at 11 a.m., 1339 Jewell St., Shreveport.
