Natchitoches Fire Dept. was dispatched by Natchitoches Police Dept. to a structure fire located in the vicinity of the 300 block of Sanford Street at 7:42 p.
m. Oct. 31
Central Fire Station, along with Station 3, responded. The first arriving unit found the structure to be 312 Sanford St. and was more than 50% involved. Two hand lines were pulled from Engine 3 to extinguish the fire while a third hand line was pulled to protect a nearby structure.
The house appeared to be vacant but a search for occupants was conducted. Nobody was found inside the structure. The fire was under control at 7:56 p.m.. No civilian or firefighter injuries were reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
